In this article, we are going to see the solar rooftop subsidy scheme in India 2022.

The Government of India had launched the Solar Rooftop Yojana with the aim of promoting Solar Energy. Under the National Portal of Solar Rooftop Yojana, subsidy is given for installing solar panels on the roof of the house. By installing solar panels on the roof of the house, the electricity bill can be reduced by up to 95 percent. In this sequence, the Solar Rooftop Scheme is being run by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Let us tell you that under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and Madhya Pradesh Energy Department, on 23 and 24 August, Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated for the public awareness of solar rooftops. This festival is being organized by Electricity Distribution Company Bhopal, East Zone Power Distribution Company Jabalpur and West Zone Power Distribution Company Indore. To make people aware of this scheme, more than 150 camps were organized.

Objective of Solar Rooftop Subsidy Scheme in India 2022

Promoting grid connected SPV rooftop and small SPV power generation among residential, community, institutional, industrial and commercial establishments.

Reduce dependence on fossil fuel based power generation and promote eco-friendly solar power generation

To create a conducive environment for investment in the solar energy sector by the private sector, state government and individuals

To create an enabling environment to supply solar energy to the grid with the help of rooftops and small plants

The work of this scheme is being handled by the State Electricity Corporation companies.

The residential consumer will have to pay the cost of the rooftop solar plant to the sellers by deducting the subsidy amount.

Under this scheme, the ministry is providing 40 percent subsidy for first 3 KW and 20 percent subsidy for above 3 KW and up to 10 KW.

Subsidy under Solar Rooftop Scheme

If you want to install solar panels on the house under this scheme, then 40 percent subsidy will be given by the government for installing solar panels of 3 kilowatt capacity.

If you want to install solar panels for industrial use, then you can install solar panels ranging from 3 kW to 10 kW, on which the government has made a provision of giving subsidy up to 20 percent.

Solar Panel Price

37 thousand rupees per kilowatt from 1 kilowatt to 3 kilowatt

Above 3 kW up to 100 kW Rs.39,800 per kWh

Rs 34,900 per kWh from 100 kW to 500 kW

Note- If you want to install 3 KW Solar Panel, then you will get a subsidy of 40 percent on the total cost of Rs 37000×3=111000. On this you will have to pay only Rs 66,600.

Amount to be given under Solar Rooftop Scheme

The Government of India provides subsidy to the consumers under this scheme. 30% subsidy is given under this scheme, which is a normal state and a union territory. Wherein Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Lakshya Island, Andaman-Nickibar Islands, in such northeastern states, up to 70% subsidy is given by the government.

How to apply for Solar rooftop subsidy scheme in India?

STEP 1: To apply online, the applicants need to visit solarrooftop.gov.in

STEP 2: At the homepage, click at the “Apply for Solar Rooftop

STEP 3: Direct Link – https://solarrooftop.gov.in/grid_others/discomPortalLink

STEP 4: Then the page containing the DISCOM Portal Links that enables people to apply for Rooftop Solar Scheme

STEP 5: The list of DISCOM Portal links are available in the state wise manner.

STEP 6: All the applicants can click at the respective links of their state to open the state electricity dept or power corporation website where Solar Rooftop online application / registration form is available.

To take advantage of this scheme, you have to sign up first. After that all the information asked in the form will have to be given correctly.

On the right side of the website, you will see the option of Installation Interest form, click on it.

After clicking, a new page will open in front of you. A form opens in front of you on a new page

After filling all the information click on submit button.

OTP will come on the number added in the form, you have to enter the OTP correctly and then submit the form and in this way you can apply.
