Coconut Farming Business: Coconut production is a Low investment and high profitable business. The coconut palm (cocas nucifera limn.) Is an international palm. Each part of the tree is beneficial to human health in many ways. Therefore, the coconut palm is affectionately known as ‘kalpavriksha’ which means tree of heaven.
Coconut Soil: – The length of the hole depends on the type of soil and the water table. In wet soils 1.2m x 1.2m x 1.2 m deep holes can be dug and filled with loose soil, fine cow dung and ash up to 60 cm before planting. In fertile soil, 1m x 1m x 1m holes are filled with pinnacle soil up to 50 cm high.

Coconut Pit Preparation: Even as filling holes, two layers of coconut shell can be arranged at the very bottom of the hole with a curved surface facing up to retain moisture. After setting each layer, a 10% BHC dip needs to be sprayed on the bark to save you from termite infestation.
In wet soils, standard 2 kg of salt per hole can be used, six months in advance, in the pit soil to soften hardened pans.
Coconut Spacing: – For a wide rectangular planting grid with 7.5m x 7.5m spacing is recommended for coconut.

Coconut planting: – Strong one-year-old seedlings, six small leaves and 10 cm wide in the column section should be preferred to be planted in a large area. Planting seedlings in May is also the beginning of the pre-rainy season.
Coconut Maturity: – Normal ripening from 12 months of planting is essential to ensure desirable crop growth, early flowering, fruiting and high yields.
Coconut Irrigation: – Coconut responds well to irrigation during the summer. Under basin irrigation, 200 gallons in four days time may be beneficial. In areas where water is scarce a drip irrigation method can be followed.
Intercultural: – Agricultural activities such as digging, sloughing, building small mounds in August – September and distribution in December – January, making shallow pots 2 meters wide before the onset of rain and filling it up on the near of monsoon are useful to the trees.
To optimize soil, sunlight, row space in coconut plantation, intercropping a variety of crops is a very good option.

Coconut Manures: Daily maturity from the first year of planting is essential for achieving high productivity in coconut cultivation. In coconut 20 – 50 kg of natural manure needs to be applied at the beginning of the southwest monsoon, when the soil moisture is high. Different types of organic fertilizers such as compost, farmyard manure, bone meal, fish meal, bloody food, necessity cake, peanut cake and more are used as input fertilizers.
Harvesting: – Coconuts matures about one and half year after opening the spate. 11-month-old nuts provide the right fiber and may be harvested from scraps where inexpensive husks are needed to make coir fiber. The economic viability of the coconut palm can be considered to be 60 years old.
