STEP 1

Peel the onion and cut off the bottom 2.5 cm from the base

STEP 2

Dry the onions until they are dry to the touch, about 24 hours

STEP 3

Insert four toothpicks into the sides of the onion so that they form a cross when viewed from above

STEP 4

Put it in a sunny place and you will see new roots sprout in about 3 days. Once the roots have grown about 1cm, the seedlings can be planted.

Make sure the roots are pointing downwards

Water regularly

STEP 7

keep the soil free from weeds

Onion grown this ways can be ready a little earlier, so check after three months.
